Good to read about you and even better to see the pics. Do you know Joe Giamalva, who is promoting the Goldiggers? His partner and I have known each other for years. It is a small world, even if I live in Iowa!
My friend Eve posted a link to your New Orleans photograph. It’s a subject I’ve been brooding about this week with all the “anniversary” of Katrina coverage in the media.
I loved the subject you chose, the sole musician, and the lighting and mood of the composition. Thanks you for sharing your vision.
I also posted a link to your photos about traveling by train, of being between here and there. The images took my breath away. As a young teen, I lived in the Netherlands and had the freedom to take trains by myself all over the country… what an amazing experience. Of course, the teaching of enjoying the journey in and of itself is one that has meant so much in my life, and the lives of my psychotherapy clients. Your photos of many of the children perfectly capture the vibrancy of their spirited lives, their eyes and movements conveying the beauty of simply being.
I am so delighted that my friend Eve’s comments beckoned me to your website. Thanks so much for what you do.
Hello John,
I just spoke with you on the phone. We are just one of SOO many Bishop Families
that adored Howard and looked forward to every week he came. Often when it was
not our day he would call to find out how the kids did on a test, etc.
We have had four children who had many teachers in New York and here ,many very good
teachers, but NEVER one that sincerely CARED as much as Howard. He was so busy it actually
took over a year of pestering him until he finally had enough time to work with our twins.
He was never about the” business” of tutoring , he would not take on a new student unless
he had the proper time available.
I am so sorry for your loss.
